Caromb is a charming village, sitting on a low hill in a beautiful valley south of the Mont Ventoux and bordered by the stunning Dentelles de Montmirail . The village of Caromb is wonderful, being so local. It is the central local hub for this corner of Vaucluse and has the quintessential Provence look who searches for; plane trees around the village square with bars and restaurants. It is ideally located only 5 minutes drive from the town of Carpentras, which itself is only about 30 minutes away from Avignon.
Being in Caromb you are well located for exploring the region. Places like Chateauneuf du Pape, Isle sur la Sorgue (antique market!), Gordes, Avignon etc. are only about 30 minutes away. You are especially close to the wines of Beaumes de Venise and the Rhone Valley wines of Gigondas and Vacqueyras.
The village is located about 25 miles northeast of Avignon in the heart of Provence.
By air, the main options are Avignon, Marseille and Nimes, Montpellier and further away, Nice and Lyon. Of these, Marseille has the most daily flights including Air France, British Airways, Easyjet, Ryanair, and Aer Lingus.
By train, the Avignon TGV station is less than an hour away from the village. The TGV links Avignon with Paris and the Côte d’Azur. Journey time from Paris to Avignon takes 2h40. http://www.voyages-sncf.com/
